| Seoul Plaza Making over for G-20 |
Next week, thousands of dignitaries will visit Korea to attend the G-20 Summit, but Korea has been busy hosting an increasing number of foreign guests for quite some time.
On the other hand, almost all high-end hotels in Seoul are fully booked for the G-20 Summit on Nov. 11 and 12.

Comment: it means that it might be very difficult to host all foreign guests during G-20 and I can't believe this has not been anticipated. But why should these people stay in luxury premium hotels while Korea offers so other interesting and sometimes unique options ?

Below are some solutions to accomodate G20 visitors and make their experience in Korean unforgettable:
- Many premium hotels have ondol rooms (with underfloor heating system) that can accomodate up to 10 (I would not say 20) people sleeping on the floor. I am sure that option has not been offered to G20 guests and I do not understand why ...
- Motels (sometimes called Love Hotels for some reasons) have plenty of modern facilities and are much cheaper than premium hotels;
- Subway stations are very warm in winter and are also very clean and well maintained;
- Homestay or Beds and Breakfast, called minbaks in Korea. Besides, many expats would be delighted to accomodate their fellow countrymen for free. You just have to ask them in advance. Nicolas and Carla, don't be desperate: I have a spare room for you ! I am living close to Hilton Millennium (nice name, isnt'it ?) and you can even jog in the morming in Namsan Park.
- Korean spas (jim jil bang) : a nice way for health-concerned people to spend the night in a relaxing and friendly atmosphere (ther is a big dormitory if you are tired of sweating);
- Temple stay: problem is that you have to sleep early and wake up a few hours later ...
