Brand Brittany Launched - 28 January 2011 - Guide2Brittany News








Today [January 28] sees the launch of brand Brittany, ‘Marque-Bretagne’.

This is the first time any region in France has undertaken a process of marketing itself as a whole, previously, only French cities such as Lyon have attempted such a coordinated approach.  The ‘Marque-Bretagne’ has the support from the world of business, art, research, education and sport.

The initiative is a result of collaboration between the Brittany Regional Council, the Economic Development Agency of Brittany and the Regional Tourism Committee.

The aim of Marque-Bretagne is to enhance the attractiveness of Brittany and to create awareness of the vitality of the region both nationally and internationally.  "In a global competition between areas image is crucial" says Jean-Yves Le Drian, President of the Regional Council of Brittany.
