Bizmen ‘go green’ in 6th food industry exhibition, symposium - Philippines

Around 80 businessmen, the academia and nongovernment organization (NGO) representatives from Bacolod City and Negros Occidental are expected to join the plenary workshop on March 3, at the Nature’s Village Resort in Talisay City.
The activity is part of the 6th Food Industry Exhibition & Symposium for Trade Advancement (Fiesta) Bacolod 2011 organized by the Hotel and Restaurant Association of Negros Occidental (HRANO) to be held from March 3-5 at Robinsons Place Bacolod.

With this year’s theme “HRANO Going Green”, a series of talks on business in relation to environment will take center-stage in the afternoon plenary starting at 1:30 p.m. T

Topics include “Sustainable Hospitality: Best Green Hotel & Restaurant Practices” to be presented by The Negros Initiatives proponent Susan de Cardenas, who is also considered as the guru of sustainable tourism, hospitality, events & marketing; and “Say No to Plastics and Styro” with Alan Gensoli of the Bacolod Anti-Baha Alliance as resource speaker while Bacolod City Councilor Em Ang will discuss a proposed ordinance on the non-usage of plastics.
