Declaration of the Birthplace of Saemaul as World Tourism Destination: Initiated in the early 70s by late President of the Rep. of Korea Park Chung-hee, the Saemaul Undong, or New Village (or Community) Movement has its origins in Gyeongsangbuk-do Province in Korea.
