The Ministry of Environment (MOE) and Korea Environmental Industry Association (KEIA) announced to carry out ‘Green Export 100’ aimed at fostering 100 small-and medium-sized, export-oriented environmental companies by 2018.
The project is designed to promote Korea’s excellent environmental companies to become global leading export companies and expand overseas export of the environmental industry.
Those SMEs with a huge growth potential and export capacity are subject to the project consisting of a wide range of programs.
First, tailored support for overseas business will be provided to the companies for reinforcing technological performance, enlarging the local market and resolving structural barrier with overseas business strategy consulting agencies.
As a follow-up, the Ministry, the subject company and the consulting agency will sign ‘MOU for Expanding Export’ and conduct monitoring for goal-oriented performance management for 5 years.
In addition, MOE will expand the number of export leading green companies to 100 with an effort to increase budget by 2018.
MOE expects that the project will contribute to increasing export of Korea’s outstanding environmental companies to overseas market and achieving the creative economy. Also, it will help shore up global competitiveness of domestic environmental industry and develop growth engine, creating decent jobs.
